Feeling blue in 2020? Artists, designers and builders look to Pantone for its annual color of the year selection. The Color of the Year for 2020 is versatile Classic Blue (PANTONE 19-4052) that resembles the sky at dusk. It’s a traditional, solid blue that Pantone describes as:

“Instilling calm, confidence, and connection, this enduring blue hue highlights our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era.”

No pressure Classic Blue!

Kathryn, designer at Graham’s, appreciates this color because “it’s straight-forward, like if you ask someone ‘what’s your favorite color?’ and they say ‘BLUE!’ This is that blue. It’s nostalgic too, ready for a playdate with banana yellow and fire-engine red. However, when it’s paired with white, blue evokes breezy ocean moments and twilight blue skies. Blue and white is a classic traditional pairing for ceramic work and fabric arts that dates back several centuries, and that’s the pairing I’ve chosen to highlight in this design board.”

Are you seeing blue? The color of the year trickles into interior design colors, such as flooring and paint palettes. We have flooring options (Forbo Marmoleum and Shaw Carpet) if you want a strong color statement on your floor. In addition, we also offer tile options (Bedrosians and Daltile) that could be used to create a vivid blue backsplash or accent wall. A few accessories that could help bring in a “pop” of this 2020 color to an existing space.
