Very Peri – The Embodiment of Courage, Inventiveness, and Creativity

It’s that time again! Pantone has released their 2022 Color of the Year. Drum roll, please! 

Introducing…Very Peri (Pantone 17-3938)!

What is Pantone’s Color of the Year all about?

For the last 23 years, the color experts at the Pantone Color Institute™ have searched the globe for “new color influences.” Pop culture, trends, arts & entertainment, travel, design, technology, textiles, social media, sports, and events, “as well as new lifestyles, playstyles, and socio-economic conditions,” are all taken into consideration to select the Color of the Year. And that color will influence “product development and purchasing decisions” for fashion, graphic, interior, and industrial design, product packaging, and more for the year to come.

What is the inspiration behind Very Peri (17-3938)?

Very Peri is a gorgeous, rich, and lively shade of periwinkle blue. We think it brings bright, yet beautiful, fun into anything it touches. But let’s defer to Pantone’s words:

Displaying a carefree confidence and a daring curiosity that animates our creative spirit, inquisitive and intriguing PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri helps us to embrace this altered landscape of possibilities, opening us up to a new vision as we rewrite our lives.

The Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute, Laurie Pressman, continues:

Creating a new color for the first time in the history of our Pantone Color of the Year educational color program reflects the global innovation and transformation taking place. As society continues to recognize color as a critical form of communication, and a way to express and affect ideas and emotions and engage and connect, the complexity of this new red violet infused blue hue highlights the expansive possibilities that lay before us.

Our thoughts:

Graham’s Flooring & Design adores this bold, fun-loving color. It is out of this world! Last year’s colors were lovely but understated. Whereas Very Peri is brave and sassy. It reminds us to pay no attention to what others may think. We only have one chance to be exactly who we are—so live out loud! We can’t wait to find ways to utilize Very Peri in our own designs and installations.

How to incorporate Very Peri into your space:

This audacious color might be too much to plaster over every wall and surface, but it does make an outstanding accent to brighten up any home. Consider using Very Peri with:
